The Book Addiction Tag

Hey fellas! How’s it going?

giphy (17)

I saw Ashes Books & Bobs do this tag and it was fun to read so I thought I should try it as well. Make sure to check their post.

What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?

If I’m not in any kind of reading slump, then I can easily go without reading for two days. After that I have to read something, or I just become grumpy.

How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?

I always carry at least one book with me at all times. If I can’t, for some reason, then I’ve got many e – books in my phone to keep me company.

Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?

I’m a bit over – protective when it comes to my books. I just can’t share or pass my books to anyone. The person has to be really special to be able to have my book.

How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?

As long as nobody drags me out of there.

How much time per day do you actually spend reading?

At least an hour, if not more.

Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?

On the bus and before going to bed.

How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?

I remember counting my e – books last month and they were almost 440. So, I guess I’ve around 500 – 600 books in total.

Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?

Whenever I can. Yes, I can be annoying when it comes to books.

What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?

The one that comes to my mind at the moment is Harry Potter and The Order of Phoenix. It has approximately 880 pages, if I remember correctly.

Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e. searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. It blew my mind the first time I read it and I had to have it in my collection.

A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?

There are so many, but I only remember these.

  1. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover.
  2. What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera.
  3. The Revolution of Jack Frost by K.M. Robinson.

What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?

  1. Read at least 65 books. Just for the record, it isn’t going great.
  2. Read at most 5 non – fiction books. I haven’t yet.
  3. Try to read more Urdu Literature. Nah uhh, haven’t tried that either.

Me to myself:

Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?

No, I haven’t. But I’ve done my fair share of nagging and shoving books in people’s faces. (Not literally, of course.)

Describe what books mean to you in five words.

Companion, Escape, Peace, Happy Pill, Home.
